Together these houses create a kind of forest, each of the 32 houses represents a tree, from the trunk (the pillar on which it holds) to the glass house the cube itself. The group of houses called Forest Blaak.
The cubes are based on a hexagon shaped structures. Each cube, rotated 45 degrees to hold onto its base, contain within three different levels, with a total of approximately 100 square meters, although a quarter of the space is uninhabitable.
Most of the houses are privately owned, others are part of the youth hostel Stayokay, so you can sleep in one of these dwellings during their stay in the city of Rotterdam.
In 2009 some of the house were renovated and converted into this youth hostel has a total of 50 rooms. The interiors have been designed by Edward van Vliet and offer a more modern environment for a few days in Rotterdam.
Finally say that one of the houses open to the public and can be visited after payment incandescent light bulb ban of 2.50 per person. Each house has bass, where the entrance to the house is located, first floor, where the kitchen and living room, the second floor where the bedrooms and bathrooms are and the third floor is sometimes used as a garden or Terrace.
