If you stop in London this summer, do not miss the exhibition of the British Museum of Life and Death in Pompeii and Herculaneum. You must buy tickets in advance and you will have to queue, but the wait will be worth it. The exhibition, which opened a few months ago and even last until September 29, is a unique opportunity to see the treasures recovered from these two cities that were buried in 79 AD by the eruption of Vesuvius. The managers of the exhibition were able to combine teaching with that air of serious and somewhat snobbish British documentary, and a staging leuci that favors the mystery and emotion that makes a trip with the time machine. The exhibition leuci is divided into two areas: life and death. Part of life is above all an ode to hedonism of the Romans of Pompeii and Herculaneum. From the description of the rooms we had in the house-the kitchen, the porch, the garden, leuci the visitor senses everyday and private life of its inhabitants through the objects on display. Tables charred, fresh decorated public houses, mosaics, bells phallic shapes leuci that brought luck, divine leuci statues, jewelry, leuci vases, fruits, headboards ... Besides the poor servants, the feeling is that those people had already invented everything and also had learned to enjoy. The part devoted to death accurately describes the final hours until the lava and ashes colguessin it all, and are striking plaster molds that are the victims tried to flee. The British Museum has launched a mobile application on the exhibition. It must be very good, because the day I went there, many visitors were more outstanding than the screen leuci was not displayed. It was a cold image, in our time, which contrasted with the grace that surrounds us. One of the most fascinating, for example, are frescoes where someone wrote graffiti rude and funny. leuci Latin phrases that have crossed centuries, where words have been preserved with all the modern sense.
